Keeping an eye out for you
Adaptive Cruise Control ACC helps you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and preset minimum distance to the vehicle in front. This means that ACC can adapt the vehicle’s speed to the relevant speed limits and the road layout (bends roundabouts etc.).
Front Assist
The optional Front Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring can warn you of critical situations involving pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles. It can even brake automatically in emergency situations. In evasive and turn-off situations, Front Assist can potentially prevent an impending accident within the limits of the system by issuing a warning or applying the emergency brake.
New driving experience at the press of a button
Switch from sport to comfort and back in an instant? It couldn’t be easier with the driving experience dial in the new Tiguan. Thanks to the new atmospheres, a touch of a button is all it takes to adapt even multiple settings at the same time – from the right background lighting to music playback to air conditioning.

The innovative IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights on the Tiguan are sure to brighten your day even before you start the engine thanks to more than 19,000 LEDs that can be controlled individually.

Other road users and traffic signs can be masked out even more precisely from your main beam headlights. “Additionally, your Tiguan can project markings onto the road, aiding you in navigating through narrow motorway roadworks and enhancing visibility.

More anticipatory driving than ever before
Thanks to its Front Assist emergency braking assistant with Pedestrian Monitoring, your Tiguan can help reduce the severity of the accident or, ideally, avoid the accident in the event of a collision threat.* It can detect pedestrians and vehicles on the road and warn the driver in time. If the driver does not react the system can initiate emergency braking.*

Fit into any space
Sometimes you need a second pair of eyes to fit into those tight parking spaces. That’s why the new Tiguan Life and R-Line comes with the option of Area View/Rear View and Park Assist. Area View is a camera-based ambient monitoring system that offers a 360-degree view of the immediate surroundings of the Volkswagen via the infotainment. The Rear View Camera Allows semi-automatic manoeuvring into any parking space parallel or at right angles to the road.
In addition, the system facilitates maneuvers out of parallel parking spaces. In the case of parking spaces at right angles. Volkswagens with Park Assist steer fully automatically when parking. The driver only needs to operate the accelerator and brakes. Within the technical limits of the system, an emergency braking system also prevents parking damage.
Stay in your lane
The lane change system Side Assist warns drivers of traffic before or while changing lanes. Visual warning signals in the exterior mirrors warn drivers of cars closer than 50 meters as well as those in blind spots. Radar sensors detect vehicle in blind spot on either side and give visual warning if driver operates turn signal to indicate a lane change.
The Rear Traffic Alert is a driver assistance system which detects approaching vehicles behind a parked vehicle. The system warns the driver when it detects approaching vehicles or automatically brakes if the driver does not react.

A good microclimate for everyone
Your passengers prefer it cooler but you like it warm? The three-zone control enables the temperatures on the driver side, front passenger side and rear seats to be set independently of each other. Starting from Tiguan LIFE, you can very conveniently regulate the intuitive, touch-operated Climatronic air conditioning system within your field of vision. The new Climatronic air conditioning system is capable of even more: The ventilation speed might be reduced automatically depending on the driving speed and other parameters in order to reduce climatization noise. The activated carbon filter keeps unwanted passengers such as pollen, fungal spores, fine dust and other allergens out. And when the windscreen washer is activated or the vehicle goes into reverse gear, the system switches to air recirculation mode automatically ensuring an all-round, comfortable microclimate.
